BodyCupid is a beauty and personal care brand based out of India. Originally hosted on Shopify, this website underwent a migration to a custom-tech platform by our dedicated DevX team. DevX team since then have been helping them improve the speed, efficiency and conversions on their website.

The Body Cupid website has consistently delivered exceptional results in terms of conversions. However, to take our performance to the next level and boost the 'Add To Cart' to purchase rate, we recognized the need for a cart revamp. Our aim was to encourage users to explore additional products and increase the Average Order Value (AOV). This is where the concept of the 'Limited Time Deal' came into picture.


With the 'Limited Time Deal' feature in action, when a user adds any product to their cart, they are presented with an exclusive upselling offer. This irresistible deal is only available for a limited duration of 2 minutes, featuring heavy discounts. The catch? The user must add the offer to their cart within that brief timeframe to take advantage of the exceptional savings, prompting them to add the products to cart and improving the AOV. 

Our approach to this feature has some key elements managed in our frontend using Next.js. The frontend component handles the attachment of limited time deal products in cart, visual representation and real-time updating of the timer, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Our backend takes care of the calculations for the discounted pricing, maintaining accuracy and consistency. This separation of concerns between frontend and backend ensures a smooth and reliable operation.

For easy tracking and analysis of the upselling performance, we used several analytics tools. It allowed us to refine and optimise our limited-time deal strategy. It also helps us analyse user behaviour and patterns with much more depth and clarity. 

Driven by our commitment to customer-centric excellence, we channelled our efforts into enhancing conversion rates on cart. This latest milestone of introduction of the 'Limited Time Deal' feature for the Body Cupid cart has proven to be a game-changer, significantly conversions for the client.
